Whether it is learning to shop your own closet or fine tune your new style, wanting easy, personalized hair and make-up tips or having a new headshot for your resume or online dating site, this seminar has something for everyone. Maybe try a new exercise routine or get tips from a personal trainer. Come enjoy Saturday afternoon, make some new friends and feel rejuvenated.

Divorce Math Series: Uncovering the Financial Mystery
Thursday, July 16th, 6:30 - 8:30pm

Once you make the decision to divorce and start the process, the second step is often all about the finances. Regardless of the approach you are using (mediation, collaborative or traditional) in this workshop we will uncover the mysteries surrounding the process of financial discovery and how to complete the Disclosure Statement (also referred to as the Financial Affidavit). This workshop will explain the form, techniques, tips of the trade and how to understand and respond to requests for discovery, known as interrogatories. Q & A included.

When Words Are Not Enough, Art Speaks
Thursday, July 30th, 6:30 - 8:30pm

As a form of expressive therapy, art therapy utilizes a creative process to help improve an individual’s emotional well-being. Join a licensed art therapist to learn about what art therapy is and how to use its strengths to empower yourself to grow from your experiences in the divorce process. No art experience necessary.
This workshop is open to all women and will include an art therapy based activity followed by an open discussion.

Divorce Math Series: Children and the Money It Takes to Raise Them!
(*and what you and your spouse can expect to pay/need)
Thursday, August 13th, 6:30 - 8:30pm

The USDA has estimated that the average cost of raising a child to age 18 is $245,340 ---and then there is College. In this workshop we will analyze the financial contributions you and your spouse may expect to make for child support, medical and child care, private school, camp, activity fees and related expenses. We will also examine College, the FAFSA application and the contributions you, your child and your spouse may be expected to provide.

Contemplating Should I Stay or Leave My Marriage?

Individual Information Sessions

A private and confidential opportunity for women contemplating divorce or beginning the process to learn about divorce in Illinois in a one hour session with one of our Information Session Counselors. Learn what your options are, how to talk and deal with your spouse, understand definitions of custody, co-parenting and child support issues, marital assets and debts, maintenance, how to hire professionals and more.

Appointments available weekly. Pre-registration required - $90. Fee Assistance Available

Support Groups

Consider joining a Lilac Tree Support Group to help you with the emotions of divorce. Our 8-week or 4-week support groups are led by Licensed Clinical Social Workers who offer a therapeutic, compassionate and informational environment. Having professional therapeutic support and friendship from other women going through divorce at the same time as you is vital and empowering.

Groups are limited to eight women in a group. Since there are limited spaces in each support group, pre-registration with a Lilac Tree staff member and a commitment payment is required - $35 per week. Partial scholarships are available.
